Coach Christina Houfek

The work the body is
already carrying.

Mind-body-life coaching, yoga therapy and Somatic Integration Therapy — for stress, work-life balance, career transitions, post-traumatic stress and personal growth.

Her story

Twenty years of teaching. It started with an injury.

Christina found yoga while rehabilitating a physical injury — and then pursued certification so she could pass the mind-body benefits on to other people.

She brings over twenty years of teaching and coaching experience, and works today as a manager, analyst, researcher, author, teacher and mind-body-life coach alongside her husband in Annapolis, Maryland.

Her practice is grounded in behavioural science as much as in yoga: a BS in Behavioral Sciences with concentrations in athletic coaching and fine arts, an MA in Leadership in Education, and a graduate certificate in analysis.

What she offers

Individual, group, and immersive.

One-on-one coaching

Private mind-body-life coaching built around where you are — stress, transitions, overwhelm, or simply wanting to feel like yourself again.

Yoga therapy

Therapeutic application of yoga as a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) — a clinical credential distinct from a teaching qualification.

Somatic Integration Therapy

A modality Christina co-founded: working with the nervous system first, so that insight has somewhere settled to land.

Group coaching

Small-group work for people moving through something similar — often more effective, and more affordable, than going it alone.

Workshops & clinics

Focused sessions on stress management, work-life balance and resilience, for groups and organisations.

Retreats

Longer immersive experiences with room for the work to actually take hold.

Who this is for

If the plan is working and you still aren't.

People come to Christina carrying stress that won't shift, a career that no longer fits, the aftermath of something hard, or the sense that they have been running on empty for long enough to think it's normal.

  • Stress that has stopped responding to willpower
  • Work-life balance that exists on paper only
  • A career transition you can't quite name yet
  • Post-traumatic stress and nervous-system regulation
  • Personal growth, on purpose rather than by accident
Community work

Trauma-informed yoga for veterans and first responders.

Christina runs a trauma-informed yoga and Stress Inoculation Training programme for veterans and first responders living with PTSD — teaching nervous-system regulation, breathwork and resilience skills.

The programme is supported philanthropically so that cost is never the reason someone goes without it. If you represent a foundation or organisation whose work touches veterans' mental health, she would welcome a conversation.

Start with a free consultation.

No form, no commitment — just a conversation about what you're carrying and whether this is the right kind of help. Email Christina directly and she'll be in touch.
